After publishing the G3 article we thought to add the predecessor of it too well the reason behind the posting of this article was that the fan following of G2 has not died yet! Actually it is pretty clear given the specs at that time two years back the G2 came with huge 5.2 inches screen covering 1080 * 1920 pixels resolution under it and not to forget it was protected by gorilla glass 2nd gen back then.
Along with that the promised lollipop update device came with powerful Qualcomm chipset of MSM8974 snapdragon 800 which is actually pretty rare even today along with the quad core krait 400 and adreno 330 powered by 2.26 GHz clockwork. Coming with a limited storage option of either of the two that is 16 or 32 Gb version of this device, it had 2GB of sufficient RAM inside it. Not only that but this device in the year 2013 came out with 13MP of camera at the back and 2.1MP at the front shooter which was tremendously loved by people.
So now after two years of using this device, you have decided to root it and test what is the max point of performance stored in this device!!! So yes that’s true let’s test it!
PRE ROOT REQUIREMENTS:
- So to get started, go to your settings menu in the device and turn on the usb debugging option given in the developers section.
- After doing that charge your device with 80% or above before you begin with the rooting process.
- Once charged make sure that all the data of your device is backed up properly and is store in some safe app.
- After doing all of the above steps visit to download and install the needed USB drivers of your device in order to let the computer connect and function properly on your device.
STEPS : How to Root LG G2
Step 1 : Once done with the above specifications, download the root files given and extract it on your desktop under a folder named after your device.
Step 2 : Once extracted connect your device to the computer using the usb cord given with the box and open the root.bat file which will be present in the folder you just now extracted on your desktop.
Step 3 : When your device is connected properly and the above mentioned file is opened, you will see a new pop up command prompt which will ask you to press any key to continue so hit any key on your keyboard to continue ahead, make sure that you follow the instructions provided in the command prompt.
Step 4 : Once done with the above step, the screen will ask you to remove the cable from the computer and then disable the debugging option after which you have to again enable the debugging in few seconds and then connect the device to the computer once completed this, again press any key on your keyboard to continue.
Step 5 : After successfully completing all of the above steps you will now be shown a final warning text on the command screen saying that the root process will void your device’s warranty, so once you carefully read the message hit any key on keyboard to start the process.
Step 6 : Hitting any key will start the process and it will take its own time I guess around 5 minutes to root your device, after it gets rooted you need to remove your device from the cable and re start it once. After which you will have a new app installed on your device which is called SuperSu, this app basically will handle the permissions on your device related to root authentications.
